WHO ARE THESE GAMES FOR?

These activities are designed for students at the beginning of the Syllables and Affixes stage who have a strong understanding of vowel patterns in single-syllable words and are ready to learn the rules for properly adding inflected endings.

Developed primarily for 3rd–5th graders, these resources can also be used in lower grades within small group lessons with teacher guidance. Because all games and activities across Unit 1 use similar formats, you only have to teach students how to play once — then enjoy the consistency and versatility all year long!
