WHO ARE THESE GAMES FOR?
These activities are designed for students in the late stages of the Syllables and Affixes stage who have been introduced to compound words, homophones, and homographs but are now ready for a more advanced selection of vocabulary — preparing them to enter the Derivational Relations stage with its heavy focus on vocabulary.
Developed primarily for 3rd–5th graders, these resources can also be used in lower grades within small group lessons with teacher guidance. Because all games and activities across Unit 9 use similar formats, you only have to teach students how to play once — then enjoy the consistency and versatility all year long!
