WHO ARE THESE GAMES FOR?
These activities are designed for students in the Derivational Relations stage — typically 3rd through 6th grade — who are relatively proficient spellers and ready to focus on the more complex intersection of spelling, vocabulary, and morphology. At this stage, students analyze prefixes, suffixes, base words, and roots to understand how word structure shapes meaning, strengthening both spelling and vocabulary simultaneously. These resources can also be used in lower grades within small group lessons with teacher guidance.
