Students divide 3 and 4 digit dividends by 2 digit divisors using the area model (array model) for division, with built-in scaffolding that addresses the two most common sticking points: choosing the right starting number to subtract from the dividend, and knowing which number goes above the rectangle as the partial quotient.
Cards come in four variations — with and without the first partial quotient given — so you can challenge and differentiate practice for every learner. A built-in check your quotient using multiplication step on the recording sheet helps students catch and correct their own computation errors.
